What is this place?

Welcome to The Dragon Libray! Can I help you find something?

This website is a place for me to put all my random ideas, artwork, recommendations, and generally act like a mirror to myself. I like doing stuff like this and love helping people find new media to enjoy. Nothing would make this dragon happier than helping you try out a new book or perhaps convince you to play an obscure video game! Thank you for paying me a visit!

Why did I make this site?

BECAUSE MY FRIEND MADE ONE!

Ha! Alright, in all seriousness, I made this website cause it seemed like a fun project! During highschool and college, I had dabbled with html, but never seriously made a full site. In the last few years, I've been diving into more creative ventures. (Drawing, making Youtube video, game design, TTRPGs, ect...) On top of it being a fun way to display and talk about all that stuff, it had a few other appealing aspects. My friend, who I will refer to as CodedInAssembly until I inevitable slip and say his real name, found neocities and we looked over a few of the sites during our weekly discord video chat. We were so inspired by the revival of old webpages, something that we only experienced in early childhood, that we wanted to make our own.

And now, after reading up on all the html stuff I forgot and looking at loads of example sites, I feel like I am ready to start putting together something semi-coherent! So, I'm starting this site out with a few things. This page, a manifesto, a home screen, a Magnus archive page (with a monster stat link) and possibly one or two other pages are what I plan to 'launch with. As I write this, my old version of the site is up and its a mess!

Still I am excited to try out another way to express myself, and it will be nice to have a place another hub for my youtube channel to link to! If you somehow found this site and actually got to this, then thanks for reading this much. I hope it's not too much of a mess when you find it and I promise I plan on continuing to update this for the forseeable future.

Note:The Above was last updated on 4/27/26. If the site is still a mess by 2027, then I've probably not kept this promise. Just want you to know whether this is still being worked on! :D

Construction Plans

Currently, as should be obvious, this website is under construction. At the time I am writing this out, I am in the process of trying to get my basic framework up. (Adding at least one topic, setting up details pages, deciding on layouts, finding art, ect..) This means I have a lot of ideas for stuff I want to show off, but it will be coming out slowly. My update schedule will probably be a little eratic, but I will try and keep track of my current plans in this section, so as to keep myself organized and give visitors a look at what is to come.

Main Site

So the site will be divided into subsections, each focused on different things. My current plans are to have at have a variant layout/style based on the topic. The first examples of this, which were on my earliest pages, are the TTRPG sections for the Magnus Archives and Mage the Ascension. These pages not only allowed me to talk about the games, but also let me post some homemade content for said games (characters, monsters, locations, ect...). Below here I will try and list planned and completed sections, marking whether they are just plans, in progress, or currently functioning as intended.

Homepage [NOT IMPLEMENTED]

Let's start with the homepage. I plan on this being a fairly simple page. The sidebars will have announcements and other fun side-tangents. The main section will simply include a large drawing of a library lobby area. With different parts of the image being buttons leading to the different sections of the site!

Details [WIP]

This page is a part of the details section. It will talk about the site and be the place I store references to people whose assets/code I use. It will also host a manifest, an about page, and anything else a dragon needs people to know about his site!

Ramble

Ramble, the Dragon Librarian is my persona on Youtube and will be how I refer to myself on the site. This section, as you can guess, will be where I talk about myself. What am I watching/reading/playing? Opinions and Ideas. Anything that's more personal goes here!

Draconic Creativity [NOT IMPLEMENTED]

This is the section where I post artwork and talk about anything creative. Stories and Fanfiction. Drawings and Animation. If I made it in a burst of creative passion, it probably goes here!

Tabletop Gaming [WIP]

This is where I talk about tabletop gaming. And while yes, I will be talking about RPGs (Not Dnd) such as Mage the Ascension or The Magnus Archives (the adaptation into the Cypher System), there are other topics to discus. Both Magic the Gathering and Board Games will have a place here!

Recommendations & Reviews [NOT IMPLEMENTED]

So, although I may do 'review-like' stuff in the other sections, this is where any recommendation or review articles go. (Perhaps transcriptions or re-writes of my Youtube Channel?) I review stuff on Youtube, and it can be a bit random what type of media I go for. But anything in that wheelhouse will go in this section.

Other Features!

There are also a few cool features I want to implement for the site!

Toggles for different settings! [NOT IMPLEMENTED]

I want people to have the options for darkmode, muting music, and reducing motion.

Music [NOT IMPLEMENTED]

I want to add some background music tracks, possibly with some kind of music player so you can select tracks.

Book/Media of the Day/Week/Month [UNCERTAIN]

To add to the vibe of being a library, I wanted to have a regular showcase item each day/week/month. Either a book or other form of media, both if I can find the time/energy, that I can showcase. The details of this are still in the early stages of being thought out by my scaly brain! I hope to have the website mostly functional and have a few entries in the Recommendations & Reviews section, so the showcase can link to my opion on the subject. Not sure if it will be mostly books or how frequently it will change, but it is something I really want to implement!

Video Repository [UNCERTAIN]

This is the last thing I will likely implement. If this website gets fully built out, I might upgrade to a paid tier and use a domain name. This combined with a private server, would allow me to share backups of my videos with the visitors. As someone who is a little nutty about media preservation, this is a bit deal for me. Still, it will likely be the last feature I dig my claws into, and I'll only move forward with it, if I believe this is more than a passing interest.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't expect me to eventually do it, just understand it will come much later than everything else.
